An assignment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
An assignment - Essay Example The equipment in the trauma unit must be suitable for trauma imaging, and consequently, the radiographers must be aware of the differences between a trauma imaging unit and a general imaging unit. In a range of client groups, the techniques should be suitably adapted, and the equipment must permit this. The radiographers should be able to analyse trauma images, and if they deliver inadequate information, they must suggest complementary investigations to aid diagnosis and treatment. The anatomical knowledge should be thorough, so depending on the target area of imaging, there may be need for adaptation of position, and during trauma imaging, the radiographer should demonstrate these skills. Trauma patients are exposed to the risk of changing clinical situations even during imaging, and the trauma radiographer must demonstrate awareness about the dynamics of a changing situation during imaging (Murray et al., 2008, 289) Taking a detailed history and examination of the patient may provide a working diagnosis, so the radiographer is able to understand and deduce the mechanism of injury. In some cases due consideration must be given to the fact that sometimes imaging may not add value to the management of the condition but may aggravate the situation due to manipulation during imaging. In most cases there is significant time penalty, and thus delay due to unnecessary imaging may be avoided. Additionally, performing an imaging in an inappropriate indication leads to the breach of laws related to radiation exposure. Using the knowledge of anatomy and possible mechanism of trauma would lead to correct area, correct positioning, and correct view of the image. Sometimes, this approach would lead to a prediction about further views. It is important to focus on the correct area for imaging since large field of views may cause missing of subtle injuries. When a fracture is suspected always two views

Open - Essay Example Corll, Henley, and Brooks were responsible for the deaths of more than 28 teenage boys during 1970-1973 in Houston, Texas, all of whom were abducted, kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered by the trio (Olsen, pp. 46). Dean Corll, the central figure of the Houston Mass Murders, was the son of Mary Robinson and Arnold Edwin Corll. He was born in the year 1939. For much of his childhood, Corll remained a shy child who rarely socialized with others. Observers linked the same with the fact that his parents had divorced twice, and the family had to relocate several times due to the marital problems. For the early 1960s, Corll, along with his mother, ran a small candy shop. He was famous to give away free candy to the children and teenagers, especially boys. He was drafted to the US Army in the year 1964 but was honorably discharged after he expressed the desire to serve the family business. It was by this time that it became apparent that Corll had homosexual tendencies. He had developed a homosexual relationship with a David Brooks, a fifteen-year-old boy in the year 1970. Brooks was much younger during the days when Corll ran the candy business. He not only gave free candy to Brooks but also lend him money whenever he needed it. In return, Corll asked for sexual favors. Later Brooks developed a deal with Corll where he would get a sum of 200 US dollars in exchange for every teenage boy that he could lure into Corllââ¬â¢s house. During the fall of 1971, Brooks was able to con young Henley into joining him for a ââ¬Å"party with lots of beer and weedâ⬠(Schmid, p. 140). However, he was just another victim of Corll sexual desires who would be raped and tortured and then would die due to strangling or a bullet from the 0.22 caliber gun of Corll. However, something led Corll to believe that Henley would make a perfect accomplice and rather than subjecting him to his sexual

Results, Figures, & Discussion Rubric - Essay Example The experiment was able to justify the hypothesis that sought to establish the brand of towel that is the better water absorber. In this regard, the results were able to deduce that the paper towels absorbed water at different rates. Qualitative results were done through observation of the paper towels over a period of time once they were dipped in water. In this regard, the most absorbent paper towel became more visible and easier to see through it. Furthermore, the paper towels were subjected to the sense of touch by gently feeling touching the towels with the fingers and assessing the level of sponginess and mushiness of each. On the other hand, qualitative results was collected through individual weight measures of the paper towels before soaking them in water and after soaking them in water. The actual amount of water absorbed by the paper towels was achieved through subtracting the weight of the soaked paper towels from the weight of the paper towel before absorption. Repetitio n of the experiment six times assisted in the reduction of data errors. The average amount of water absorbed for the premium paper towels was 20mL. The average amount of water absorbed for the recycled premium paper towels was 15mL. The reason for the difference absorption rates can better be explained by the variance in the production quality of each paper towel. In this regard, the recycled premium paper towels are of a lower quality compared to the premium paper towels. In conclusion, the experiment has justified the hypothesis by showing that paper towels have different capacity to absorb

They ranged in price from $50 to several thousand dollars. Motor control centers consisted of dozens or even hundreds of motor starters that were combined in a customized enclosure and were capable of starting motors in various areas of the plant from a centralized location. They ranged in price from less than $50 000 to several hundred thousand dollars. The motor starter made fewer sales than the projections. It however managed to sell 8.5% of the entire industry sales. Repair parts were the most improved products, after realizing sales of 14% of the whole industry sales. Body image - Essay Example Josephââ¬â¢s Turrowââ¬â¢s article entitled Targeting a New World shows how firms use target marketing in order to reach their markets and propagate their message. On the other hand, the detrimental effects of the marketing in peopleââ¬â¢s mind are shown in Dan Cookââ¬â¢s Lunchbox. Hegemony. These two articles reflect how marketers shape the body image of customers through the use of advertising and how advertising leads to the deterioration of our self-worth. Joseph Turrow describes how marketers are diverting their efforts from mass marketing to target marketing where specific advertising messages are geared to capture a specific audience. This is done by tailoring a program which is suited only for the target market while signaling the wrong people to go away. Target advertising, which aims to separate individuals in different media communities, equates the purchasing power of customers to their self worth. It can be seen that in this type of community, only those who can pay will be provided for while those who cannot afford to pay will be treated as outcasts. The separation of communities according to their lifestyle will also encourage individuals to discriminate those who do not belong to same media community. This individual will perceive that his ââ¬Å"lifestyleâ⬠is superior while other people are inferior, hampering the possibility of knowing other people outside their circles. According to Turrow, ââ¬Å"It will allow individuals in their personally constructed worlds, separated from the people and issues the y donââ¬â¢t care about or donââ¬â¢t want to be bothered withâ⬠(18). This separation also erodes mutual dependence and appreciation of other people. Lunchbox Hegemony proves how marketers have succeeded in promoting a consumer culture among the children. This article shows how targeted marketing as described by Turrow really works. Cook acknowledged how

Tow Qustions Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Tow Qustions - Essay Example Furthermore, program evaluation seeks to evaluate if the program is worthwhile, needs improvement or re-focusing. The program evaluation that sparked my interest is the assessment of the juvenile justice programs. The juvenile justice programs are tasked with transforming delinquents into socially functioning individuals. Rarely do citizens question the effectiveness and success of such a respected public institution. This evaluation utilizes SPEP (Standardized Program Evaluation Protocol) to determine the efficiency of the juvenile institution (Rossi et al., 2004, p23). The SPEP compares several juvenile justice programs to determine their effectiveness. Prior to evaluating this effectiveness, the researchers developed a meta-analysis of the programs. Meta-analyses are a definitive way used in assessing the best practices from the analysis of several studies on programs. The meta-analyses aim at improving the program, in our case the juvenile justice, to achieve efficiency and effectiveness (Bardach, 2012, p68). Other techniques used in the evaluation program for the juvenile justice program are the OJJDPââ¬â¢s strategy that assesses the current juvenile systems. This program evaluation aims at improving on the juvenile justice record of positively changing the lives of delinquents. The evaluation aims at instigating change and reform in this system responsible for the lives of misguided youths. It further aims at disapproving certain methods used in, such as the use of confinement to discipline delinquents. The results of the program evaluation are not definitive. However, the researchers leave several guidelines and recommendations that suggest the best way forward for the juvenile justice program. This way is based on the results gathered from the research. All stakeholders of the program are addressed individually as the evaluation seeks to improve on the programââ¬â¢s effectiveness

Research Proposal Example Color also gives the customers an impression on the quality of food (Ciotti). Therefore, the right color will give the impression of good quality food sold by Gyro Hero and in the process attract customers. As shown above, the brandââ¬â¢s color is very critical in attracting customers. With the perfect color or combination of colors, the business will be able to keep a large and loyal customer, thus ensuring continued profitability and expansion of the business. The proposed method of research is using picture cardboards depicting different colors for the food truck and food background. Previous research shows that the target market for the food truck business is parents with young children in their homes and those within the age group of twenty-five to thirty-five. These groups of people would, therefore, make the largest proportion of our study samples. The research is done in simple steps of showing the target study group the pictures with different color patterns and then asking them for their feelings, thoughts and impressions on each of the color samples. Their responses are recorded and taken for analysis. The most preferred color for the food background was red followed by blue. We therefore, could use red and blue as our favorite color for the background. Yellow and green had a significant preference, and can be in use as a second
